Our Legacy
Born in the heart of Kaffa, the origin of coffee, Gugu Coffee is a family legacy rooted in passion and tradition. Founded by Getachew Taffese and Guzguz Yimam, we began as suppliers for the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX), specializing in both natural and washed coffee. The name “Gugu” is inspired by a beloved family nickname, now carried forward by their daughter, Frehiwot Getachew. After studying International Economics and Trade at South China University of Technology, Frehiwot took the helm to bring Gugu Coffee to the global stage, blending Ethiopia’s rich coffee heritage with modern innovation. At Gugu Coffee, every cup tells a story of family, culture, and the timeless flavors of Kaffa.
